The Laboratory Service is situated at Level G of the hospital.
The laboratory offers a comprehensive range of laboratory tests for diagnosis, management and prevention of a wide variety of diseases. Speed and accuracy are critical in diagnosis and administration of the right treatment to a patient.
The laboratory workforce comprises of qualified, experienced and professionally trained personnel and is equipped with the latest modern instruments and equipment.
Systems and procedures are in place to ensure that the relevant information is channeled to the right source. Once a test has been performed in the laboratory and the completed result validated, a hard-copy result will be sent to the requesting site. Furthermore, the Hospital Information System enables the instant connection between the relevant departments in the hospital. Requests for diagnostic services can be made online in a timely manner. In order to improve efficiency and efficacy, several tests are conducted on single modern equipment.

Haematology is the branch of pathology that deals with the analysis and interpretation of haematological tests for diagnosis and management. The laboratory provides a major input to the vital 24-hour service with blood counts, coagulation results and peripheral blood smears. The laboratory works closely in cognizance of clinical history and diagnosis provided.
Chemical pathology is the branch of pathology that deals with the analysis and interpretation of biochemical tests for diagnosis and management. It is also known as clinical chemistry, clinical biochemistry or medical biochemistry. Common biochemistry testing includes electrolytes, blood glucose, liver enzymes, lipids, cholesterol, uric acid and other substances.
Phlebotomy service is available for referred patients from registered medical practitioners. The Phlebotomy Centre is located at the Laboratory.

Saturday: 8:30am – 12:30pm
Sunday: 8:30am – 5:00pm
